A Namyi Wedding Ceremony [ A download --- 757035 KB --- in .mkv format] A Namyi (Namzi, Namuyi) family held the ceremonies presented here for their son and daughter-in-law in January 2008 in the son's parents' home and the Jinping Restaurant in Mianning County Town, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, PR China. The bride was from Jiulong County, Ganze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. The Namyi number about 5,000 and are classified as Tibetan. This documentary film was made by Luode Gezu. Namyi Sacrifice to the Deities [ A download --- 393139 KB --- in .mkv format] This Namyi sacrifice to the deities was sponsored by Luodu Gezu's grandfather, Luogu Shuoguozha, on a mountain located in Mu'er Village, Lianhe Township, Mianning County, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, PR China in February 2008. This ritual involved sacrificing to Luodu Gezu's elders' graves. This ritual is done by Namyi families during the lunar New Year period (1st-15th days of the 1st lunar month). Namyi Calling Back the Soul Rite.[ A download --- 314902 --- in .mkv format] This Namyi calling the soul back ritual was done by the religious specialist, Han Heshang, at Luodu Gezu's grandfather's home in Mu'er Village, Lianhe Township, Mianning County, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, PR China in February 2008. The ritual was done for Luodu Gezu's father who felt weak and was experiencing a lack of energy. Han Heshang, upon consultation, suggested this ritual. There are about 5,000 Namyi. Solar Cookers [ A download --- 70513 --- in .mkv format] Solar cookers in Tibetan communities are an appropriate form of solar energy use benefitting the environment and of great benefit to women and girls, who are expected, culturally, to collect fuel (animal dung, wood, straw) for their households.
